There are many homeowners who would like to have the areas around their home’s entrances and exits illuminated but do not want to have a full landscape lighting system installed. If this is you, or you would just like to have a little bit of extra light around your front door or backyard patio, then a motion-activated sensor light could be for you.
On less, costs less.
Motion-activated sensor lights are a great way to provide illumination to your property but with less electrical usage. The sensor is triggered when something moves which turns on the light and switches off when everything is still. It provides the same illumination for someone walking in the front door as well as the same deterrent for a criminal lurking in the shadows. It is great for areas where a full landscape lighting system is not practical or for someone on a smaller budget.
Most lights today use LED bulbs which offer more efficient illumination, less energy consumption and are more environmentally friendly. The sensor detects body heat and its sensitivity can be adjusted so that it won’t be triggered every time a squirrel walks by or a leaf blows by it (though the sensitivity can be toggled for that). They can be installed anywhere in or around the home. They are not just limited to the outside.
Convenience is key.
Motion-activated sensor lights offer many advantages. The first is that you never need to worry about turning them on or off, they do it themselves. You will never go on vacation and have to wonder if you left the outdoor lights turned on with a motion sensor light. You also will not need to stumble or fumble around trying to find the switch to turn the light on. That means that the toy your child left on the walkway can be spotted before you step on it while carrying a handful of groceries.
Theft Deterrent as an added bonus.
They can also act as a deterrent for a criminal. Light is not something a burglar or vandal wants to deal with as it increases their chance of being spotted all the while giving them fewer places to hide. A motion activated sensor light can work just as well as an alarm system as a deterrent and costs significantly less.
If a motion-activated sensor light is something that you are interested in or would like more information then give Resort Lighting a call. We can handle the installation and maintenance of the lights for anyone on Long Island.
